So, what's your story?

I was raised by Mississippians in McKinney, TX – so y’all know I’m a Southern Gentleman.

I graduated 5th in my high school class then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude and with honors from Texas A&M.

Majoring in Electrical Engineering with Minors in Business and Math, I’ve always enjoyed a mix of business and technical.

In college I discovered my skills helping and leading others. By senior year, I was president of 2 organizations simultaneously – 1 of them philanthropic.

At multiple major engineering companies, I worked jobs from technical design to organizational development. During this time, I led development and networking organizations while also continually educating myself.

I then left the engineering workforce to travel the world and start my own company.

And here we are!

OK...but who are you really?

Although I've done a wide variety of things, there are a few things that I've always prided myself in:
1

Curiosity

Ever since I was a wee lad, I’ve never ceased to wonder how things work. Whether it be an electronic device, a board game, or a business, I want to know what makes it tick.

2

Continual Improvement

I’m always looking for ways to do things better in my business and life (just ask my wife ). I do this a variety of ways:

  • Taking courses (ex. Lean Six Sigma, Comp. Sci., Project Mgmt.)
  • Books
  • Podcasts…tons of podcasts
  • Online Content
3

Logic & Rationality

My brain works in a very logical way (hence the engineering). Because of this, I’m able to place emotion aside and act in a rational way.

I enjoy thinking both tactically and strategically. I hone these skills by playing strategic board games and apply them  in my business.

4

Caring

I’m always there for my family and friends. If someone has a problem, I help solve it.

I want to extend this to the rest of the world, hence why I started Helpful For Life.

5

Quick Wit

Because what’s life if it doesn’t include a little humor?

Sarcasm is one of my keys to people’s hearts.

If you want to check out some details about my experience, check out my LinkedIn page.

What are you working on?

Helpful For Life is my main focus, but I'm always looking for new opportunities.

Helpful For Life

This is my first entrepreneurial venture. It’s a company that teaches you what you need to know but were not taught in school. It does this through online courses, videos, infographics, 1-on-1s, etc.

HFL covers a wide variety of topics: budgeting, spirituality, cooking, drug usage, health insurance, home organization and more!

Please check it out, everyone has SOMETHING that they could use a little help with!

Tumbleweeds in the Wind

In June 2018, my wife and I moved into an RV. We travelled “full-time” across the US and Canada until December. We then picked it up again June – November 2019. It was an amazing time jam-packed with new experiences. We focused on museums, local food, and the beautiful outdoors. Although we’re often behind on posting updates, check it out below if you’re interested!

Working with you!

In addition to Helpful For Life, I do various things on the side. I’ve listed a handful of things below, but if there’s anything you think I can help you with, please reach out!

You have a dog!?

And Lincoln is his name-o.
Lincoln

Lassie, Timmy fell down the well!

And I know…you don’t see many Collies these days.

And yes…my wife made him an Instagram to document his growth from puppydom.

Lincoln the Collie Logs

Get it? Like Lincoln Logs? Also, like Lincoln "logs" his life? Or like Lincoln makes "logs" after he eats? My wife certainly thought it was funny when she came up with it.
